Spano Solar Enterprises, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Spano Partners Holdings, LLC, announced that it has entered into an agreement with a New Jersey clean energy firm to construct a 3.6- megawatt solar installation at its Village at Manalapan site at Route 33 and Millhurst Road. Once completed, the solar installation will be among the largest groundmounted, grid-interconnected solar systems in New Jersey, but will quickly be surpassed by its fully approved 19.85- megawatt system to be built later this year.
“The Village at Manalapan system, located on a 13-acre subdivision, will produce 3.6 megawatts of clean renewable energy, or enough electricity to power roughly 450 houses annually,” said James Spano, managing partner of Spano Partners Holdings. “The project will include just under 16,000 photovoltaic solar panels which if laid end to end would extend for almost 20 miles.”
Spano, of Hillsborough, said the power generated from the Village at Manalapan solar system will be sold wholesale to energy suppliers and will help New Jersey to produce additional clean, efficient and renewable energy. The project is estimated to cost $18 million.
“We are delighted to join with other New Jersey solar firms in stimulating New Jersey’s economic growth to produce New Jersey jobs while enhancing its citizens’ quality of life with clean, renewable energy here at the Village at Manalapan and at our other sites under development in the state,” Spano said.
