Brace Place of Manalapan will once again sponsor a special program that will turn Halloween candy into a worthwhile donation. For each pound of candy collected, the office will offer $2 – $1 will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the other dollar can be kept or donated. Candy will be collected Nov. 6-13, Mondays 1-8 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brace Place is at 800 Tennent Road, Manalapan.

The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources will sponsor its ninth annual Diversity Job Fair, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton of Eatontown, Route 35 at Industrial Way, Eatontown. Parking and admission are free. “Job Hunting Tips for Tough Times,” a free mini-seminar, will be presented at 10 a.m.

Candidates seeking jobs at any level from entry to mid-level, professional and management, are welcome. Buddy Benton, a premier agent with Prudential Financial’s Central New Jersey Agency, qualified to attend a daylong specialized training and mentoring session in insurance and financial services at the company’s National Top Gun program that was recently held in Chicago Qualifications were based on sales production.

Benton, who joined Prudential in 1999, has received Prudential’s Million Dollar Roundtable award six years in a row for outstanding performance in customer sales and service. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Benton has earned the CMFC (chartered mutual fund consultant) and CLTC (certified in long-term care) industry designations.

Benton is a resident of the Clarksburg section of Millstone.

United Teletech Financial Federal Credit Union (UTF) recently named Michael Timmes as human resources manager at its Tinton Falls location. He will be responsible for managing the human resources team and developing and implementing programs that contribute to the long-term business objectives of UTF. Timmes, a resident of Freehold Township, has 15 years of experience in human resources. Prior to joining UTF, he was responsible for leading the human resources activities at several businesses, including the Sheraton Eatontown and the Hilton Gateway.

The Red Bank law firm of Giordano, Halleran and Ciesla has announced that John A. Aiello of Colts Neck has been appointed to the board of directors for the Association for Corporate Growth – New Jersey Chapter. The association is a global association for professionals involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions for mid to large companies. Aiello, an officer and shareholder at the firm, and chair of its corporate and securities department, focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and various aspects of corporate finance, including private placements and initial public offerings of securities.

Barbara Davis, owner of Barbara Davis Employment Services, was honored with the Business Owner of the Year Award at the Central Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners Platinum Star Awards dinner Sept. 12. The award recognized Davis’ significant contributions as a professional business owner. Barbara Davis Employment has been in existence 19 years and has locations in Red Bank and Freehold. It places approximately 500 full-time regular and temporary employees to meet clients’ needs. Davis recently launched Joint Vistas LLC with business partner Rich DeCrescenzo. The company serves as a consulting business to help small to mid-size corporations reach the next level of efficiency. She will also be teaching a business consulting course at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown.

Publishing Executive and Printing Impressions magazines, co-sponsors of the annual Gold Ink Awards, announced that Design NJ has won a silver award in the Magazine Front Cover category.

This year’s Gold Ink Award winners were chosen from more than 1,500 entries submitted in 50 categories. Winning pieces surpassed their competitors based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect.

Design NJ is a regional New Jersey consumer magazine in the competitive shelter category.

The gold award in the same category was presented to Rolling Stone magazine and the bronze award recipient was Billboard.

Design NJ magazine was launched in February 2001. It is published six times per year by Hobby Publications Inc., based in Marlboro.

New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA), the state’s largest building industry trade association, has launched the Ask the New Jersey Builder Internet Web site, www.askthenjbuilder.org, to answer homebuyer and homeowner questions on the process of purchasing a new home, as well as maintaining and improving an existing home. The Web site was launched to complement NJBA’s weekly newspaper series, Ask the New Jersey Builder, which is published in newspapers around the state.

Patricia Kelly, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, was recently honored with a Prism Award at the Interiors by Decorating Den’s 37th annual conference held in Las Vegas.

Kelly, owner of an Interiors by Decorating Den franchise, was selected to be a speaker as part of a panel at the conference. While attending this conference, Kelly also had the opportunity to attend advanced design training classes, and expand her product assortment by participating in a trade show that featured more than 100 brand-name home furnishings vendors.

Established in 1969, Interiors by Decorating Den has more than 500 franchises and decorators worldwide. Each decorator offers design solutions and samples of window, wall and floor coverings, furniture and accessories, in a client’s home or office.

Matawan Student Enrichment Program has announced the addition of artists Hayley Schertz, Matawan, and Robin Milne, Freehold, to its staff. Schertz will instruct ceramics to students in grades kindergarten and higher. She received her bachelor of fine arts degree at Alfred (N.Y.) University. Milne will also instruct in ceramics in the area of polymer clay. She received her bachelor of science degree in visual arts and graphic design at the University of Bridgeport, Conn.

The Credit Union Mortgage Alliance Network, (CUMAnet) has recently appointed Cristian Tiberi of Manalapan, assistant vice president, lending.

Tiberi joins CUMAnet from Affinity Federal Credit Union’s Financial Recovery department, where he served as financial recovery manager for more than three years.

Prior to Affinity, Tiberi was vice president, real estate/retail delivery at United Trust Bank. Tiberi is an American Collectors Association-certified collector and negotiator, and a graduate of NAFCU’s Management Development Institute at Louisiana State University. He received his bachelor’s degree in business management from Thomas Edison State College.

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has accredited CentraState Medical Center’s Nuclear Medicine department for three years. The award is based on “rigorous on-site, peer-review evaluations of personnel qualifications and equipment performance.”

Nuclear medicine is a branch of medicine and medical imaging that uses radioactive substances in diagnosis and therapy.

CentraState’s ultrasound department, another division of the hospital’s radiology department, also recently achieved three accreditations by ACR.

CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, three senior living centers, a health education and activities center, a family medicine residency program, and a charitable foundation. It is a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health Network and a clinical research affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
