Wegmans Food Markets Inc. took top honors in the Employee Innovation category of Fast Company magazine’s 2004 Customers First awards.

According to a press release from Wegmans, the company was selected in recognition of the “deep knowledge” that employees display to customers and the extraordinary investment the company makes in developing the knowledge base of its staff. The magazine noted Wegmans’ extensive training program, which includes employees traveling, sometimes to other countries. For example, cheese shop managers have traveled to Europe to watch how cheeses are made according to centuries-old traditions.

Wegmans has 66 stores in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, including a store in Manalapan.

Ari Horowitz, a personal financial representative at the Morganville office of Allstate Financial Services, has qualified for membership in the 2004 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the premier association of financial professionals.

A 17-year veteran of the industry and three-time qualifier of the MDRT, Horowitz has represented Allstate since 1991. He is a resident of East Brunswick.
