Carol Marie Collins

Mrs. Collins, 78, of Manalapan, died Nov. 15, 2007, at home. Born in New York City, she had resided in the Bronx, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan 42 years ago. Prior to retiring four years ago, Mrs. Collins was a payroll clerk for the Manalapan Township Finance Department, where she was employed for 37 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown, and a member of a Rosary group in Manalapan. Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her husband, Edward D. Collins Sr., in 1967. Surviving are three sons and a daughterin law, Edward D. Collins Jr. of Point Pleasant Beach, Kevin and Kathleen Collins of Belmar, and Thomas Collins of Manalapan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Joseph Grecia of Hershey, Pa., and Joanne Collins and Angel Ballester of Freehold; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Pat Muller of Lake Carmel, N.Y.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Binck of Queens, N.Y., and Elizabeth and David Sauthoff of New York City; and five grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
