Police: Fatal accident in Monroe caused by deer

MONROE — A 29-year-old Manalapan woman died last week after her vehicle struck a deer.

Nalani E. Tesalona was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries, according to police.

Tesalona was traveling west in a 2007 Pontiac G6 on Buckelew Avenue approaching the intersection with Gravel Hill- Spotswood Road when she struck a deer in the roadway around 3:12 a.m. on Nov. 25.

After the impact with the deer, her vehicle left the roadway and drove across a Buckelew Avenue property, struck a tree and rolled over into a ditch, police said.

The crash is being investigated by Police Sgt. Sergeis Jangols of the Monroe Township Traffic Safety Division. Anyone with information should call Jangols at 732-521- 0222 ext. 126.
