Middlesex Co. Federation of Democratic Women to host ‘Swing by the Barn’

The Middlesex County Federation of Democratic Women will host its annual “Swing By the Barn” event on Oct. 7 from 7-9 p.m. at Baker’s Barn, 93 Church Lane, East Brunswick.

Lizette Delgado-Polanco, vice chairwoman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee and executive director of the Service Employees International Union, New Jersey State Council, and Beatrice Moskowitz, vice chairwoman of the Middlesex County Democratic Organization and former teacher and principal, will be the event’s guest speakers. Middlesex County Clerk (20 years) and former teacher (27 years) Elaine Flynn is the event’s special guest and one of 12 honorees.

Along with County Clerk Elaine Flynn, honorees include 18th Legislative District Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin, 16th Legislative District Assembly Candidate Maureen Vella, Highland Park Mayor Gayle Brill-Mittler, Highland Park Councilwoman Susan Welkovitz, Jamesburg Mayor Marlene Lowande, Metuchen Councilwoman Allison Inserro, Monroe Councilwoman At Large Candidate Leslie Koppel, North Brunswick Councilwoman Shanti Narra, Old Bridge Councilwoman At Large Candidate, Deborah Marquez, Piscataway Councilwoman At Large Camille Fernicola, and Woodbridge Councilwoman At Large Lizabeth DeJesus.

The evening’s festivities will include food, music by Highland Park guitarist Francis A. Varrichio, and some great conversation. There will also be a free drawing for a vacation (land only). This vacation is provided by Betty Kessler, president of Elegant Bridal Productions and Federation member. You must be present to win.

Cost is $35 per ticket. Net proceeds will be divided between the 12 Democratic Women candidates/honorees and Federation’s Middlesex County College Scholarship Fund. A Middlesex County College female graduate who will be attending a four year college or university with a major in political science or a related field will be the recipient of the scholarship.
