Mr. DeWitt, 62, of East Brunswick, died April 17, 2012, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in September, he was a service writer for Ray Catena Infinity, Edison. Before that, he was employed by Open Road Honda, Edison, and Brunswick Acura, East Brunswick. Mr. DeWitt was a VietnamWar veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a CivilWar re-enactor in Gettysburg, Pa. Surviving are a son, James DeWitt of New Brunswick; a daughter, Kim Brake of Maple Shade; his life partner, Cathy Pecorale, of East Brunswick; three stepsons, Anthony Pecorale of Georgia, Thomas and his wife, Meredith Pecorale, of North Carolina, and Joseph and his wife, Karen Pecorale, of Spotswood; a sister, Edna Andes of Florida; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by interment in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
