The State Theatre will present “Clifford the Big Red Dog —Live!” on March 3 at noon and 3 p.m. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Scholastic’s beloved “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” the Emmy-nominated television series is being brought to life in an all-new musical. Tickets range from $15-$35.
In this new tale, Clifford and Emily Elizabeth journey to Birdwell Island for adventures with their friends Cleo, T-Bone, Charley, Jetta and Mac. They will share Clifford’s “Be Big! Ideas” — which include sharing, playing fair, having respect for others, working together, being responsible, being truthful, being kind, helping others, believing in oneself, being a good friend and other values — with laughter, music and dancing that the whole family will love.
Clifford’s big ideas came out of the curriculum developed for the animated television series “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” based on the books by Norman Bridwell and airing on PBS Kids. The show regularly features learning connections that include early reading, emotional and social development, literacy, friends and friendship, self-expression and communication. With more than 126 million books in print and the television series airing in more than 110 countries, Clifford is a literary classic embraced by parents, teachers and kids. “Clifford the Big Red Dog — Live!” aims to have the entire family singing, dancing, learning and having tons of fun together.
