EBTV program earns national recognition

A segment of EBTV’s Amy Fisher at Large series recently earned an honorable mention from Hometown Video Festival 2003, a competitive national contest that recognizes the best of local cable programming. EBTV, East Brunswick’s municipal access cable television station located in the township’s public library, is seen on Comcast channel 3.

The honored segment, Amy Fisher at Large: Grounds for Sculpture, focuses on the Grounds for Sculpture founded by eccentric sculptor J. Seward Johnson, who transformed the former state fairgrounds in Hamilton into a contemporary sculpture garden with two indoor museums.

The show, hosted by Fisher and directed by Dave Ambrosy, features an interview with Johnson; a tour of an exhibit by glass artist Dale Chihuly; and a visit to the latest addition to the grounds, a sculpture titled The Boating Party.

EBTV will televise encore presentations of the show at 8 p.m. on July 1, 8 and 22.

The program vied with more than 1,500 other entries from throughout the United States and several Canadian provinces. It earned an honorable mention in the visual arts category, professional division.

The Hometown Video Festival is sponsored by the Alliance for Community Media, Washington, D.C.
