The East Brunswick Library is hosting the Fine Films Festival during the months of October and November. Martha Hess, Information Services Librarian, will introduce each film. Admission is free and open to all. This year the festival features two of the best-reviewed films of the year, “Young@Heart,” and “The Vistor.”
“Young@Heart,” a 2008 documentary will be shown at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5. It is 109 minutes, rated PG and follows a chorus of 24 senior citizens as they rehearse for their annual concert in their hometown of Northampton, Mass. But instead of singing the music of yesterday, the Young@Heart Chorus tackles contemporary classics by James Brown, the Clash and Coldplay, among others.
“The Vistor,” a 2008 drama, will be screened Nov. 9 at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. It is 103 minutes and rated PG-13. It tells the story of Walter Vale, a widowed college professor, who leads a solitary life until he meets a Syrian immigrant and his Senegalese girlfriend in New York City.
