Free concert, fireworks Friday
Millennium celebration Saturday
Free concert fireworks planned
Summerfest, an outdoor performance series, will feature four free concerts this year, the first of which is scheduled for Friday, July 7, 7:30 p.m., at South Brunswick High School.
First Class Act will provide a nostalgic return to the 1950s-1970s in a rock n’ roll retrospective, including tunes from Elvis to the Beach Boys to the Eagles. A 25-minute fireworks display presented by the Girone Fireworks Company will take place at dusk, approximately 9 p.m.
In case of rain, the concert will be held inside the gym Friday evening, and the fireworks will be rescheduled for Saturday night at SBHS at dusk.
Due to limited parking at the high school, there will be a shuttle bus service from the Municipal Center parking lots to the high school, 7-10:15 p.m. There is also parking on local side streets. Car pooling is recommended.
Those requiring handicapped parking should use the Ridge Road entrance and the lot adjacent to the varsity soccer field. There is overflow handicapped parking at the rear of the high school. Use the Stout Lane’s entrance.
