Police are investigating a series of break-ins this week in which three local homes were burglarized.
At least three homes were broken into on Monday and Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
On Monday, a bandit entered a Friendship Road home through a back door and stole an undetermined amount of money and a television. On Tuesday, a Deans Lane home and a Fresh Ponds Road home were also broken into. The owners have yet to determine what was stolen, according to police spokesman Detective Jim Ryan. The suspect gained entrance to the Deans Road residence through a back door while a basement window was used for entry in the Freshponds Road incident.
All three victims returned to their homes to find them ransacked and it was not immediately known what was stolen.
Detective Ryan said the investigation is ongoing.
Six homes were burglarized between Nov. 30 and Dec. 10 in Monmouth Junction on Major, Ridge and Texas roads. Detective Ryan said police don’t believe the burglaries are linked to the recent ones.
