Charles Petrock

   MANVILLE — Charles Petrock died July 28 at home. He was 72.
   Born in Somerville, he had been a lifelong Manville resident.
   Mr. Petrock retired from Union Carbide in 1980 after 30 years with the company.
   In 1981, Charles took over the family business, Ted’s Market, of the Weston section of Manville. He spent many years running the business with his family until 1998.
   He was a member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville.
   He was a member of the Manville VFW Post 2290 and the Manville American Legion Post 409.
   His wife, Dorothy Petrock, died in 1999; his brother Theodore Jr. died in July.
   Surviving are his daughters, Kathy Malinowski of Manville, Charlene McLaughlin of Franklin Park and Sharon Elfo of Hillsborough; his mother, Kathryn Petrock of Manville; one brother, Frank of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
   A funeral service was held from Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Burial was held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
