Three take oath

Democratic councilmemebers, Henry Miller, Gerald Tamburro and Joanne Conolley, were sworn in at the Township Council’s reorganization meeting Sunday.

   MONROE — Council members Henry Miller, Gerald Tamburro and Joanne Connolly took the oath of office at the Township Council’s reorganization meeting Sunday.
   The three Democratic council members were re-elected to four-year terms Nov. 8.
   In addition, Mr. Tamburro was unanimously elected council president at the meeting. Mr. Tamburro, who started his second term at the council’s business meeting Wednesday, previously served as council vice president and replaces Ms. Connolly in the role.
   This is his first time serving as council president, a position he will hold for the next two years.
   Mr. Miller was elected council vice president, a position he has held twice.
   Mr. Tamburro also replaced Mr. Miller as the council liaison to the Master Plan Update Committee, while Mr. Miller took over as liaison to the Senior Advisory Committee.
   The Township Council will continue to hold its business meetings on the first Monday of each month (except holidays, when they will be held the following Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building. Agenda meetings will continue to be held on the last Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. (except holidays).
