MILLSTONE — The Township Committee has adopted an ordinance that establishes a host of permitted principal uses in the municipality’s HC and HC-1 highway commercial zones along Route 33 and Route 537.
The ordinance was adopted on May 20.
The following uses will be permitted in the zone: retail trade establishments such as, but not limited to the following: bakery, candy and confectionery store, clothing store, delicatessen, drug store, florist, grocery store, hardware store, liquor store, newspaper, book and tobacco store, tavern, toy store, appliance store and certain types of restaurants.
And, service trade establishments, limited to banks and similar forms of financial institutions, barber shop, beauty shop, dry cleaning and laundry pick-up stations only (no dry cleaning or laundry is permitted on the premises), medical, dental, optician and optometrist offices, and professional offices including accounting, attorney, engineering, architectural, surveying, realtor, and similar types of offices.
Also, repair service (radio, television, appliances, shoe, clothing, lawn and garden equipment, etc.), undertaking and funeral homes, pest control, electrical, plumbing and auto parts, dance school, martial arts school, fitness center, theaters, bowling alleys and similar forms of indoor commercial recreation, ice skating and roller skating rinks.
And, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and swim clubs, health spas, quasi-public buildings (facilities for group assemblies, including patriotic societies, lodges, veterans organizations, fraternal, charitable organizations, including social clubs), farms and agriculture, and child care centers.
