EVENTS





   Fitness video club: Monroe Township Office on Aging will hold half-hour aerobic workouts. Mondays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. First-come, first-to-exercise basis.

   Bridge classes: Beginner classes and intermediate classes available. Monroe Township Senior Center, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Call to register.

   The Jamesburg Senior Citizens’ meet at 139 Stevens Ave., Jamesburg. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. All Jamesburg residents older than 60 years are welcome to join.

   Blood pressure screening: Free blood pressure screenings are provided on the second Tuesday of every month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. First-come, first-served basis.
   Victory at Sea: Documentary about the Navy in World War II. First and fourth Mondays of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
   Humor for the health of it: Experience entertainment and enlightenment during this comedic health seminar. Learn how to maintain a positive attitude, deal with stress, enhance the memory and more. Mid-morning treat after the seminar. $1 per person. Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. Register in advance, as space is limited.
   The American Collection: A history of the United States will be brought to life through the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s American collections. Slide-illustrated talk explores portraits, landscapes and figure paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries. Thursday, Sept. 6 at 1:30 p.m. Register in advance.
   Options for scitatica: Doctor-led discussion about on the signs, symptoms and treatments for sciatica. Learn how to prevent back and leg pain. Friday, Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m. Register in advance.
   Friends’ flea market: Join the Friends of the Senior Center for its flea market, held in the Monroe Township Municipal parking lot. There will be many vendors and loads of treasures. Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; rain date is Sunday, Sept. 9. For more information, call 732-521-2101.
