Millstone man facing charges

MILLSTONE — A Millstone Township man was arrested on child pornography-related charges on July 8 after a search warrant was executed at his home, Monmouth County Acting Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.

Andrew J. Cantagallo, 20, was arrested after investigators from the Computer Crimes Unit of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office acted on a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating images of child pornography were uploaded to a Twitter account from an IP address resolving to his home.

Cantagallo is charged with second degree endangering the welfare of a child (distribution of child pornography) and third degree endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child pornography).

He was initially placed in the Monmouth County jail on $150,000 bail with no option to post 10 percent, as set by Superior Court Judge John R. Tassini, sitting in Freehold.

If convicted of the second degree endangering the welfare of a child (distribution of child pornography) charge, Cantagallo faces a sentence of up to 10 years in a state prison and would be subject to the provisions of Megan’s Law upon his release, according to the press release.

If convicted of the third degree endangering the welfare of a child (distribution of child pornography) charge, he faces a sentence of three to five years in prison.
