Nicholas M. Saggese

   Nicholas M. Saggese, 79, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in New Brunswick.
   Mr. Saggese was born in East New York, Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised his family in Ozone Park, Queens, N.Y., where he lived for many years before moving to Rossmoor in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a school bus driver for Varsity Bus Co. in Queens for 30 years before his retirement in 1962. He loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren and was devoted to Our lady of Mount Carmel.
   He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Caroline (Tufano) Saggese; three daughters, Maryanne Castiglia and her husband, Robert, of East Northport, Long Island, N.Y., Joanne Biada and her husband, Richard, of Millstone, and Patricia Rappa and her husband, Fred, of Manalapan; and six grandchildren, Robbie, Carly, Jillian, Taylor, Nicholas and Jennifer.
   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Friday), Oct. 3, from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe, N.J. 08831. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our lady of Mount Carmel church, 275 N. 8th St. Brooklyn, N.Y., 11211. Note: In memory of Nicholas M. Saggese.
