Bear hunting is an issue to some people and a hobby to others.
Bear hunting may be wrong, but it is good in a different amount of ways. Black bears are like people there are a lot of them populating New Jersey. There is a higher population of black bears in New Jersey than there ever was. Bear hunting is like deer hunting. If you kill some, it won’t hurt the species because there are a lot of them. They are being pushed out of the woods because there are so many of them. They are starting to go into our living areas which causes more human-bear contact.
The number of complaints of damage and nuisance caused by bears has risen from 896 in 2007 to 1,895 in 2008. Bear hunting is good to decrease the population a little bit, but not enough to cause an endangered species but to keep them in the wood and away from the humans. This way, neither humans nor bears get hurt.
Overall bear hunting could be a good thing for New Jersey, I am for it.
