SOUTH BRUNSWICK: High school drama club to perform ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’

By Davy James, Staff Writer
The South Brunswick High School Drama Club will present the musical comedy, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” at SBHS today (Thursday), Friday and Saturday.
Each performance will start at 7:30 p.m. Based on the 1988 film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, the play just finished a run on Broadway and centers on two con men living on the French Riviera.
”This is a comedy, which a lot of folks enjoy, and offers the opportunity for a lot of kids to be involved,” said Director Ginny Kraft. “This is a modern play that appeals to a modern audience more so than some of the classics. There are huge dance numbers, and it really stretches the kids to perform.”
Tickets are available at the door at $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.
”So far, this is one my favorites that we’ve done here,” Ms. Kraft said. “There’s a lot of energy. It’s a fast-paced show and has a lot of surprises. The kids have worked hard, and they do a great job.”
