The Republican Party is looking for residents to run for the office of mayor and for Borough Council. Three terms are up in November and Republicans are urged to run.
Rudy Nowak, the Republican Party chairperson, said that the party needs candidates to endorse. The office of mayor and two Borough Council seats are up for election. Mayor Lillian Zuza (R) along with Borough Council members Steve Szabo (R) and Lou Fischer’s (D) seats are up in November. Mayor Zuza has announced that she will seek re-election.
”The Manville Republican Club is seeking candidates to run in the November election for mayor and Borough council. Just because you are an incumbent that doesn’t guarantee you the nomination,” he said.
Interested persons need to submit a resume and they will be asked to appear at a screening committee meeting to be held prior to the selection of candidates. Persons must also present their qualifications and why they want to run for the office.
Mr. Nowak said all applicants will be “taken into consideration to the committee, men and women, at which time a vote will be taken as to who the Municipal Committee will endorse for the various offices of mayor and council.”
The primary election is held the first week of June and applicants must submit their resumes by April 1 and can do so by calling Mr. Nowak at (908) 707-0728.
