The Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education re-elected Lisa Wolff as its president and Leigh Ann Peterson as vice president at the board’s annual reorganization meeting Monday night.
Ms. Wolff and Ms. Peterson, who were re-elected in the April 17 school board elections to two of Hopewell Township’s seven seats on the nine-member regional school board, were sworn in Monday.
Jon Butler, who won his first term representing Pennington Borough, was out of town and will be sworn in later this week.
The board unanimously voted to return Ms. Wolff and Ms. Peterson to the leadership positions they held during the 2011-12 school year.
”We have a lot of positive momentum going from last year, and I look forward to continuing on that path,” said Ms. Wolff, a sales and marketing consultant.
Ms. Wolff, who will make committee assignments this week, spearheaded the Alternative Resources Advisory Committee, which promotes non-taxpayer funded resources and collaboration with outside organizations seeking to partner with the school district.
She has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Peterson, formerly a compliance officer with Barclay’s Capital Inc. in Manhattan, recently joined UBS. She chairs the board’s Negotiations Committee and is a member of the Personnel Committee.
”I am looking forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on the board and in the administration to provide a first-rate education to the children of Hopewell Valley,” said Ms. Peterson.
Mr. Butler has been the executive director of Pop Warner since 1991, and serves on numerous national and local boards.
