HIGHTSTOWN: Board of Education seeks applicants for vacant seat

HIGHTSTOWN — The East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education is seeking applications for a vacant board seat, according to a district press release.
Susan Lloyd, of Hightstown, resigned from the Board of Education as of June 30, said Carolina Jablonski, who is the secretarial assistant to the board secretary.
”Ms. Lloyd’s first term began in 2002 and (she) served on the board for three full terms from 2002 to 2011,” Ms. Jablonski said.
She was reelected for a fourth term in April 2011, and resigned during the second year of her fourth term, Ms. Jablonski explained.
Thus, due to the resignation of Ms. Lloyd, who was a Hightstown representative on the board, a vacancy exists, the district release said.
Anyone interested in being considered for the appointment to this seat must submit a letter of intent and agree to a public interview before the full board, the release said. The successful candidate will serve until January 2013.
To be eligible for this interim appointment to the board, a person must be 18 years old, a resident of Hightstown for at least one year, a U.S. citizen, a registered voter, able to read and write and not directly or indirectly involved in any contract with or claim against the school district.
Letters of intent should be sent to Board Secretary Kurt J. Stumbaugh CPA, 25A Leshin Lane, Hightstown, 08520, or dropped off at the board office in the administration wing of Hightstown High School. Letters of intent must be received no later than July 19.
The November 2012 election ballot in Hightstown will include the names of candidates wishing to serve as a Hightstown representative to the board for the remainder of this unexpired term, the release said. This term begins January 2013 and ends in January 2015.
Candidates intending to appear on the November 2012 ballot must contact the Mercer County clerk’s office for a nomination petition and reply within the deadlines set by that office.
