Despite the 2-storm week at the beginning of February that derailed many activities including due to power outages in Central NJ, Congregation Beth Chaim’s Tikkun Olam group persisted in its commitment to serve cooked meals to homeless families through partnership with HomeFront. Congregants cooked at home, bought fresh fruit and vegetables and packed sandwiches with meat and cheese as well as PBJ to assemble and donate for children and adults served by HomeFront. Beth Chaim’s Tikkun Olam group, whose motto is “Making the World a Better Place One Mitzvah at a Time” regularly provides a full dinner for 50+ and plenty of leftovers, often double that amount, to meet the needs of children who receive tutoring and for related HomeFront programs.
