Alexandra “Sandy” Torra

Mrs. Torra, 67, of Middletown, died Jan. 18 at home. Born in Russia, she relocated to the United States, and resided in Middletown since 1951. She and her husband co-owned Monmouth Street Chevron, Red Bank, for 43 years. She was a member and past church warden of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Red Bank. She was a life member of the River Plaza Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary for the Middletown Township Fire Department. She enjoyed gardening, boating, and helping with the preservation of her church. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Frank Torra; two daughters, Veronica “Ronnie” Torra and Alexandra “Sandy” Torra, both Middletown; a brother, Nicholas Doroschenko of the Fords section of Woodbridge; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Robert M. Carvalho of Malibu, Calif., and Richard Torra of Santa Ynez, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Torra Lesher of Solvang, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Ida M. Hilman Wishbow

Mrs. Wishbow, 90, of East Brunswick, died Jan. 11 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1966. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Cirminello of East Brunswick; a son, Edward Wishbow of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.

Joseph T. Holton

Mr. Holton, 85, of South Amboy, died Jan. 10 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Anna Munkacy Holton; a daughter, Linda Susan Meszaros of Sayreville; three sisters, Catherine Gerba, Dorothy Leslie and Grace Pavich, all of South Amboy; and two grandsons. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.

James P. Nemeth

Mr. Nemeth, 85, of Chapin, S.C., formerly of South Amboy, died Jan. 8 at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Kosovich Nemeth, in 1999, and by a son, Samuel, in 2001. Surviving are four sons, James. A. Nemeth of South Amboy, Carl J. Nemeth of Sarasota, Fla., Robert P. Nemeth of the Parlin section of Sayreville and Kevin A. Nemeth of Aberdeen; a daughter, Renee J. Kotula, with whom he resided; a brother, John Nemeth of New Brunswick; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.

Claire E. Kuhn

Mrs. Kuhn, 75, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 9 in Briarwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Sayreville. She was predeceased by a son, James. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey of San Diego and Jay of Old Bridge; a brother, Vernon Lewis of Sparta; a half-brother, Chris Lewis, and two half-sisters, Vivien and Paula Lewis, all of New York City; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Cremation was private.
