Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m., at the Pennington Presbyterian Church, everyone is welcome to attend a community festival with music provided by the Pennington Station Band.
The music will be classic rock and roll. Buy food from Carlito’s Taco Wagon.
Pennington Station Band has an expansive song list, including a range of rock favorites. It has four lead vocalists, and its music is a mix of Beatles; Creedence Clearwater Revival; Jimmy Buffet; Eagles; and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
The band plays to audiences at community festivals, wineries, class reunions, country clubs, beach parties, charity events, fundraisers and private venues like birthday parties and corporate events.
The members come from around the region. Scott Rast, the lead and rhythm acoustic guitarist, is from Lake Como, New Jersey. Mike Kirby plays brass and comes from Wall Township, New Jersey. George White lives in Pennington and plays drums. Chip Folk is from Newtown, Pennsylvania, and is the lead on rhythm acoustic guitars and harmonicas.
Carlito’s Taco Wagon will be onsite for the evening’s festivities. It makes appearances at street food truck events and other festivals.
Throughout the summer, the church at 13 S. Main St. in Pennington offers its members and the community at large family oriented events. They take place in the courtyard on Main Street.
The concert is a free event. Bring food to grill and a dessert, side or salad to share.
Everyone is welcome. The concert will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the eating and music moves indoors into air conditioning while the grilling takes place outdoors in a space protected from rain.
