Two area high schools have moved on to the second round of competition in “The Challenge,” the academic quiz show designed to test students’ knowledge in a Jeopardy-style format.
Following their first-round victories, the academic teams from John P. Stevens High School of Edison and Saint Joseph High School of Metuchen will compete in Round 2.
John P. Stevens will face Hawthorne High School at 5:30 p.m. March 10 on MSG Varsity.
Representing John P. Stevens are Ria Sen, Andy Shi, Varun Sriram, Vigneshwar Subramanian and team captain Susan Tang. The academic advisers are Richard Alfonzo and Bohdanna Vitvitski.
The team from Saint Joseph will face West Milford High School on March 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Representing the school will be Michael Bender, team captain Alex Frey, Jason Hill, Ryan Langton and Nick Palmieri. The academic adviser is Edward Powers.
