The Edison Public Library will present basic computer classes designed for seniors, the technically challenged and for people who are just learning computers. The classes are hands-on training and have limited seating.
The following classes are available:
Computer Classes for Seniors: • Sept. 29 at the North Edison Branch Library, 777 Grove Ave. at 2 p.m.;
• Sept. 30 at the Clara Barton Branch Library, 141 Hoover Ave. at 10 a.m.
This course will explain a computer’s function, what is necessary to run a computer, the different parts and software, as well as a brief explanation of how the Internet works.
Computer Classes for Understanding Computers:
Part 1 will discuss the physical concepts of computers, what is required for different usage, and some methods of connecting to the Internet, as well as practical experience with the mouse and basic functions.
• Sept: 10 at the Edison Main Library, 340 Plainfield Ave. at 2 p.m.
• Sept. 15 at the North Edison Branch Library at 2 p.m.
Part 2 will discuss Windows and how the operating system works. It will cover software and the programs used for different purposes, as well as file format.
• Oct. 1 at the Edison Main Library at 2 p.m.
Computer Classes for Basic Internet Sept. 17 at the Edison Main Library at 2 p.m.
