Hidden Gardens Tour set for June 13

ALLENTOWN — Garden and art lovers are in for a special treat in June when the Allentown Garden Club and the Allentown Art Guild partner on the Hidden Gardens Tour.

The tour, which is offered every two years, offers rare glimpses into area residents’ most exquisite private gardens, according to a press release.

The 2015 Hidden Gardens Tour features a number of gardens in Allentown and surrounding areas and will also include art displays from Allentown Art Guild artists with artists at work in the gardens.

The tour takes place 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 13, rain or shine, and advance tickets are available for $15 at the Allentown Public Library, Main Street, Allentown, online at www.allentowngardenclub.net or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Allentown Garden Club, P.O. Box 74, Allentown,

NJ 08501.

Tickets will be available until 12:30 p.m. on the day of the tour for $20 at Keris Tree Farm, Route 524, Allentown.

Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to shop for plants at Pleasant Run Nursery.

The wholesale nursery will open its doors for one day to allow tour ticket-holders to visit, view the display gardens and purchase plant material during the tour, according to the press release. Sales are cash or check only.

The nursery features many rare and hard-to-find woody ornamentals, perennials, vines, grasses and tropicals.

One individual will receive a painting by Allentown Art Guild artist Andree Lisette Herz.
