Author of shark book to read at Barnes and Noble

Richard G. Fernicola, author of Twelve Days of Terror: A Definitive Investigation of the 1916 New Jersey Shark Attacks, will visit Barnes & Noble bookstore, 44 Brick Plaza, Brick, on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. He will read from his book, answer questions and autograph books.

Fernicola is recognized as the foremost authority on the New Jersey shark attacks of 1916. His research became the basis for the television documentaries Legends of Killer Sharks and Shark Attacks: 1916, which have aired on the Discovery Channel and the History Channel.

Fernicola is a doctor of rehabilitation medicine and pain management at the Shore Rehabilitation Institute in Point Pleasant.
