Decision for Democratic council majority a right one

After watching the Township Council reorganization last week, I am even more sure the voters’ decision to put the council majority in the hands of the Democrats was the right one.

Councilwoman Maureen Little started off the day by voting against Mack Womack and Carlo Socio for council president and vice president, and then continued to try to undermine the proceedings not by offering constructive suggestions, but by putting forth a series of accusations and conspiracy theories about how her colleagues on the council were trying to keep her out of the loop.

Her complaints that she wasn’t asked for her suggestions about committee appointments makes me wonder why she didn’t submit a list instead of waiting for someone to ask her. Also, her statement in last week’s paper that she wanted Peggy Scarillo reappointed to the Open Space Committee after Scarillo was the one that spearheaded the condemnation of the Otken farm shows us that, despite her protests, she just doesn’t get the fact the people of North Brunswick are against condemnation.

It looks like Little is determined to continue the same type of bickering she and Scarillo perfected last year. Isn’t that a shame?
