Public noting behavior of newly elected officials

Congratulations to Mack Womack and Carlo Socio on being elected Township Council president and vice president, respectively. The leadership they showed last year in standing up to the dictatorial policies of Peggy Scarillo, Leo Ryan and Maureen Little makes me believe the Township Council is in good hands this year.

I would hope, for the sake of our residents, Little and Larry Baldini, the two remaining Republican members of the council, put partisanship aside and try to work with the new council majority in making our township a better place to live.

The people have spoken as to which policies they believe are in the community’s best interest; now it is time for our elected officials to work together to put those policies in effect.

The people are watching and listening carefully and will be taking careful note as to which officials attempt to work together constructively and which wish to fight and disrupt just for the sake of partisan politics. Remember, Election Day is 11 short months away!
