Mayor misguided over support of Democrats

Our mayor, David Spaulding, has been such a disappointment. He has backstabbed everyone that has worked hard to get him elected.

It seems if you don’t follow and do what the mayor says, he finds a way to get you out by manipulation and lies.

Darren Snediker, former director of Parks and Recreation, was set up because he thinks innocently and was still learning the ways of township and state rules.

How can the mayor warn Snediker of lying in December 1999 if Snediker didn’t start working for the mayor until January 2000? How can you possibly become proficient in state bid laws by attending a "briefing"? Why would the mayor forward an e-mail recommending a landscaper to Snediker? Since when does the mayor worry of such issues?

Everyone blamed Peggy Scarillo, former Township Council president, for the arguing, but the mayor was just as much at fault. Yes, Scarillo is headstrong but she fought for the people. The mayor seems to be for himself. He is a Republican dictator now sitting with Democratic dictators.

I was born and raised in this town and thought it was the best place to raise our family. As a youngster, I rode my bike to watch airplanes take off and land on "Airport Road." I was able to ride my bike through paths in woods, which we all made to have fun, build forts, and go to Tesse’s Candy Store on Cozzens Lane. My children did not have these experiences, unless I drove them out of town.

As a teen-ager, we had to cross over Route 27 to feel what country was. Today, Routes 27 and 130 are ruined by overdevelopment, and it’s not over yet. Our mayor once supported open space for the kids; it was one of his campaign issues. I no longer trust him to bargain anything for us.

If our mayor thinks the sitting council Democrats will support him on issues, he will surely learn they are just waiting until he is out. They only care about their political party and not the people of North Brunswick. I

t doesn’t surprise me how council President Frances Womack couldn’t wait to file a resolution to give back the land North Brunswick already owns. He did it for the party, as admitted, and like all the North Brunswick Democrats before him. He and prior Democrats did not think of our children’s future when they voted to begin the process of giving away our land.
