Richard "Dick" Lindsay, 74, of Monroe, died Tuesday, March 12, at his home.
He was born in Mingo, W.Va., and had lived in Englishtown before moving to Monroe 30 years ago.
Mr. Lindsay was a slitter operator for 3M Company in Freehold Township where he was employed for 35 years, before his retirement in 1992.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Molly Pitcher Post 434 in Englishtown and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Jamesburg.
His wife, Dorothy "Pat" Lindsay, died in 1989.
Surviving are a son, Richard L. Lindsay of Monroe; a daughter, Donna L. Fletcher of Marlboro; a brother, Melvin Lindsay of Baltimore; two sisters, Nina DiMartino of Freehold and Marie Davison of California and three grandchildren, Kimberley Perez, Elizabeth Colon and Megan Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, followed by burial at Old Tennent Cemetery in Tennent. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) at the funeral home. American Legion services will be held Friday evening. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
