Joins Gelardi in Township Committee race against
Republicans Dr. Steven Sireci and John Souren

Hillsborough Little League President Bill Gold is throwing his hat into the political arena this year. Mr. Gold will join incumbent Dep-uty Mayor John Gelardi on the Democratic ticket to win a seat on the Township Committee.
Mr. Gold and Mr. Gelardi will face Republican newcomers Dr. Steven Sireci and John Souren in November, as all four vie to obtain two open seats on the committee. A dual victory by either party would grant that party control of the committee. A split victory one Democrat and one Republican will keep the Democrats in control by a 3-2 margin.
"I’ve lived in Hillsborough for over 20 years. My wife and I along with our son have thoroughly enjoyed living here," Mr. Gold said. "The quality of life here provides a great place to raise a family. I want to keep it that way and I look forward to working as hard as possible to ensure that our friends, neighbors and all citizens continue to enjoy living in Hillsborough."
Among the key issues Mr. Gold hopes to address if elected are open space preservation, controlling spending to minimize tax increases and ensuring a high degree of services for everyone in town, particularly children and senior citizens.
Mr. Gold, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from C.W. Post College in Long Island, is the owner and president of the Piscataway-based business USA Containers. He serves as a director of the Pennsylvania-based company Stoney Creek Technologies, a company he helped found.
Prior to being appointed as president of the Hillsborough Little League more than two years ago, Mr. Gold served as the league’s vice president for two years. Prior to that, he managed within the league for 10 years.
Mr. Gold also has served as co-president of the Middle School Home and School Association and served on the township’s Credit Card Advisory Committee.
Most recently he founded the Gavel Club, a booster club for Hillsborough High School’s Model Congress/Model United Nations Club. Mr. Gold has also been a fund-raiser for Temple Beth El in Hillsborough.
