Fun day had many supporters

Letter to the editor

To the editor:
On behalf of Hightstown Engine Company No. 1, I would like to thank everyone who attended our Family Fun Day and Car Show. You, our neighbors and friends, made it a big success, despite having to go to our rain date. We lost some vendors and other planned activities, but we still had a good time. Thanks to you. We had over 80 cars and trucks registered for this event.
We would like to thank the following vendors and individuals who helped to make this a good day: Mario of the Argentine Grill, the Lions Club, Anthony’s Chicken and Ribs and, of course, the fire company for some great food. Other vendors that day were: Cesar Segura, Mario Diaz, Latasha Bey, Patten Photographers, Elizabeth Konopacki, the Elks Club, Dave Babcock of RKM Printing, the Roosevelt Nursery School, Sharon Mackey, Dan Kipner, Phil Pullen, Dick Aughenbaugh of Weicher Realty, Windsor Nissan, Haldeman Ford, Perrine Pontiac, the volunteers from Peddie School and all the local sponsors who helped to make this a success. We would also like to thank Kathy Simmons of the Old Hights Print Shop and Michael’s Kwik Printing for all our printing and copying needs. Last, but not least, we want to especially thank the Ladies Auxiliary of Hightstown Engine Company No. 1, and Tony, Laura and Kelley from NAPA Auto Parts. Without these people, we couldn’t have done it.
We thanked the above groups or individuals, but it is really you, the residents of Hightstown and our other visiting friends that day, that made this such a success. Thank you again.
