Hopewell yard sales slated June 1, 2

   The Hopewell communitywide spring yard sale is scheduled for June 1 and 2. Clean out basements and attics and price treasures for sale. Hopewell Borough waives fees for yard sales that weekend.
   Jam du Jour, a musical jam session in the center of town, on Broad Street near Dana Graphics and Soup du Jour, will add to the festive air of the Hopewell Borough communitywide yard sale June 1. Sponsored by the Hopewell Business Association, the event will feature a number of musical groups, which will play throughout the day, starting at noon. Among the performers are the Maggi Hill Band, Fist Fill of Funk, Dave Homan group, Snapperhead, Zydeco, Camelion and Interweave.
Jamnesty, June 2
   On June 2, Hopewell Valley Central High School Amnesty International Chapter will host "Jamnesty: A Human Rights Festival" at the Hopewell Volunteer’s Bandstand in Hopewell Park, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. This community event will feature food, music, and information on human rights in the 21st century. Students will staff tables and booths to inform the community on the current status of human rights issues in the world today and the role of Amnesty International. In the afternoon, the event will feature local band Fist Full of Funk.
   Clean-up day will be June 15. Items that will be picked up at that time include washers, dryers, small household appliances, furniture, mattresses, box springs, rugs and carpet.
   Items that will not be picked up are air conditioners, tires, refrigerators, hazardous waste products, batteries, bricks, concrete and cement blocks.
