Mowadia stands up to JCP&L for Brick

I want to congratulate our newest councilman, Leon Mowadia, on his efforts with respect to the stray voltage issue.

It seems JCP&L can’t get out of its own way. First, it was the July 4 blackout, and now this touching closer to home.

Councilman Mowadia jumped right into the situation by investigating personally what this stray voltage means to some of us Brick homeowners. He didn’t just talk or write letters, but he actually went to the scene to better understand the problem. With that understanding, he came up with a creative solution, a creative way to make sure the energy company gets the message.

His efforts are just the latest reminder of the kind people that have been on the Scarpelli team over the past years. They all seem to be civically active, longtime residents of Brick who want to make a difference. They are a welcome relief from those political hacks who write the nasty letters to the editor criticizing everything and doing nothing.

I would hate to think where Brick would be if it was governed by those nasty, negative naysayers instead of the positive, hardworking Scarpelli team.
