The Ocean County Camera Club, sponsored by the Lakewood Community School, is celebrating its 31st anniversary. The club has been recognized by the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs as the most outstanding club in the state. The club will meet at the Lakewood High School library, 855 Somerset Ave., every Monday at 8 p.m. Members enjoy weekly meetings, field trips, studio and photographic skills, studio shooting sessions, guest speakers and monthly competitions, with awards in black and white, color slides and prints. Granny’s Attic & Bake

Sale to benefit church

The Faith Circle of Jackson United Methodist Church is sponsoring its annual Granny’s Attic and Bake Sale Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Oak Tree Mobile Home Park’s recreation hall, off Diamond Road, Jackson. Items for sale will include books, bric-a-brac, dishes, housewares, costume jewelry and baked goods. Proceeds will go to purchase needed items for the church and parsonage. Details: (732) 928-9172.

Alliance plans to host

Internet safety program

The Jackson Community Alliance will be conducting a cyber-stalking Internet safety program to teach parents what to look for and how to protect their children. The free course, facilitated by the New Jersey State Police and co-sponsored by the Jackson Rotary Club, will be held at 7:15 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Senior Center on Don Connor Boulevard. The program is designed for parents and adults age 18 and over. No children will be permitted to attend. Preregistration is required. Refreshments will be served. Call (732) 928-1145 to register.

College theater will

present ‘Mary Pickford’

As part of its "Biographies From the Court" 2003 theater series, Georgian Court College, Lakewood, will present "Mary Pickford," an interactive theatrical experience highlighting the times of Edith Gould, actress, socialite and wife of railroad tycoon George Jay Gould, the original owner of the Georgian Court estate. Performances will take place at the Mansion at Georgian Court College on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. from Sept. 10 through Oct. 12. Tickets cost $35 per person and include tea, finger sandwiches and pastries. Call (732) 364-2200 to purchase tickets. A special producer’s performance, where the actors and producer share their experiences, will be held Oct. 12 at a cost of $40 per ticket.
