Jackson police get set
for ‘Click It or Ticket’

Jackson police are preparing to participate along with 70 other police agencies in the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety program, "Click It or Ticket."

Jackson has been chosen as one of the towns to receive grant funding in order to get the word out about vehicle occupant safety and restraint seat laws, otherwise known as the seat belt law.

In order to achieve the goal of reminding drivers and gaining up to 100 percent compliance that all vehicle occupants use their seat belts, Jackson police are setting up a special enforcement detail to stop and educate drivers and/or enforce the seat belt regulations.

According to a press release from the police department, additional patrols will be on the roads between Nov. 17-30 as part of the grant funding initiative.

Police said Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times on the highways each year with people taking to the roads to gather with friends and family. Jackson police and the director of public safety said they want to see everyone arrive at their destinations safely and remember to "Click It or Ticket."
