For the Record

The editing process, not a reporter’s mistake, caused an inaccurate account of who attended a recent meeting of the Jackson Township Committee to be published. A story in the Nov. 6 Tri-Town News stated that Geneva Clayton, municipal chairwoman for the Republican County Committee in Jackson, was at the meeting. Clayton was not present at the Township Committee meeting, but her son, William Santos, was. Mayor Michael Kafton asked Santos if he was responsible for disseminating a flier that Kafton claimed contained defamatory statements about him (Kafton). Santos said he had nothing to do with the dissemination of the flier.
