Holiday gala to benefit women’s shelter

The Historic Grenville Inn in Bay Head will host the fourth annual "Holiday Wishes and Tasteful Dishes" gala Dec. 9.

Proceeds for the event will go to benefit Dottie’s House, a transitional housing facility for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence.

The evening will offer butler-style hors d’oeuvres and carving stations, house wines from the Renault winery, a sister company of the Grenville, as well as desserts and coffee.

Guests will have the opportunity to bid during a silent auction.

Items to be auctioned include Waterford crystal, a trip for two to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and an overnight stay and dinner for two at the Grenville Inn.

Customized holiday decorations by Princeton Avenue Flowers and Gifts of Brick will add to the Grenville Inn’s traditional Victorian holiday decor and will be given away as door prizes. Strolling violinists will provide background music.

"The evening is always a special holiday gathering for everyone who attends," said Carol A. Wolfe, president of Dottie’s House. "We actually encourage people to attend and bring guests that they might otherwise entertain for the holidays. It’s a great party and a great way to enjoy the Grenville Inn, while also helping a very important cause."
