Clifford G. Van Arsdale Jr.

Mr. Van Arsdale, 57, of the Perrineville section of Millstone, died Nov. 8 at home. Born and raised in Hamilton Township, Mercer County, he resided in Perrineville for 20 years. Previously employed by Princeton University, Arsdale was the former owner of Van’s Sporting Goods in both Trenton and Hamilton Township. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Glenn Royal of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters and a brother, Nancy Clegg of Florida, Robert T. Van Arsdale Sr. of Hamilton Township and Linda Furda of Trenton; three aunts and uncles, Betty and Walter Szymanski and Ruth and Donald Robbins, all of Cream Ridge, and James and Adelma Holzbaur of Hamilton Township; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. Cremation was private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, 08902.

Robert Baxter III

Mr. Baxter, 23, of Howell died Oct. 31 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in Bayonne and resided in Howell. He was a police officer with the Howell Township Police Department. Surviving are his parents, Robert II and Barbara; one sister, Jennifer Baxter of Columbia, S.C.; and his paternal grandmother, Florence Carey Baxter of Bayonne. Funeral arrangements were handled by Lakewood Funeral Home in Howell. A Mass was offered at St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell. Entombment was at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan. Madeline A. Mooney

Mrs. Mooney, 87, of Howell died Oct. 21 at home. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Linden and Tuckerton before moving to Howell. She had worked in retail sales and for Nason’s Ladies Apparel in Linden, retiring in 1976. She is survived by her husband, Francis Mooney; a daughter, Lynn Tornich of Manalapan; two brothers, John Astorina of Colonia and Tom Astorina of Arizona; four sisters, Terry Conlin and Rose Hansen, both of Florida, Mary Smith of Minnesota and Irene Hrudowski of Rahway; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Helen J. Lebers

Mrs. Lebers, 68, of Millstone died Nov. 4 at home. She was born in Jackson and lived in Millstone for 51 years. Mrs. Lebers was a home health aide for 10 years before retiring in 2000. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 1985. Surviving are her son, John J. Lebers Jr. of Millstone; four daughters, Susan Bennett of Browns Mills, Lorraine Urbani of Eastampton, Patricia Symbouras of New Egypt, and Penny Campbell of Sulphur Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Mable Fowler of Toms River, Geneva Randolf of Jackson, and Louise Manlin of Allentown, Pa.; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia, followed by interment at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Jackson.

Rita C. "Mimi" Marine

Mrs. Marine, 78, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Oct. 22 at home. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Sayreville Board of Education. Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Marine; two daughters, Donna Gulzeth of Brick and Joanne DellaPietro of Keyport; a son, Bill Marine of Cream Ridge; a sister, Dorothy Neafsey of Margate, Fla.; a brother, Charles Anderson of Lakewood; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Nina Romananko Romanow

Mrs. Romanow, 82, died Oct. 23 at home. She was predeceased by a grandson. Surviving are her husband, Vladimir Romanow; four children, Larissa Ruotolo, Ana Alue, George Romanow and Vladimir Romanow, all of East Brunswick; five brothers and sisters, all in Russia; five grandchildren; and four grandchildren. A service was held at St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Church, Jackson. Interment was in the church cemetery.Eugene Blaszka

Mr. Blaszka, 58, of Sayreville died Nov. 3 at home. He was employed for the past 20 years as a custodian for the Sayreville Board of Education. Prior to that, he worked for Thomas and Chadwick Oil Co., Sayreville, and the Sayreville Sewage Department. Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda Marsh of Fall Branch, Tenn.; a son, Steven Blaszka of San Francisco; three brothers, Chester of New Brunswick, Richard of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Anthony of Jackson; three sisters, Florence Wingerter of Sayreville, Rose Szkodny of East Brunswick and Theresa Villanti of Old Bridge; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Cremation was private.

Rita Byrnes Painchaud

Mrs. Painchaud, 84, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Nov. 2 at home. Her husband, Albert L. Painchaud, died in 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Maureen Gonzales of Lakewood; two sons, Paul Painchaud of Brick and Thomas Painchaud of the Clarksburg section of Millstone Township; two sisters, Muriel Clark of Hoboken and Frances Barrett of Brick; a brother, William Byrnes of Eulis, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Priscilla Meyer of Brick and Lorraine Painchaud of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mary Alice Gares Bruno

Mrs. Bruno, 65, of South Brunswick died Nov. 2 at home. Born in New Brunswick, she resided there and the Franklin Park section of Franklin Township prior to moving to South Brunswick in 1987. She was executive director at the Middlesex County Medical Society, East Brunswick, for 27 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Middlesex County Medi­cal Society Foundation and a graduate of Som­erset Hospital School of Nursing. She was pre­deceased by her husband, Francis C. Bruno Sr. in 2000. She is survived by two sons, Fran­cis C. Bruno Jr. of Somerset, and Glenn Bruno of Howell; two daughters, Mary Lee Bruno of Chesterfield, and Madeline Michaylin of Franklin Park; three brothers, Walter Gares of Maryland, Robert Gares of Florida and William Gares of Delaware; and six grandchil­dren. Burial was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Margaret Brancato Mincieli

Mrs. Mincieli, 88, of Long Branch died Nov. 3 at home. Born in New York City, she resided in Long Branch for 38 years. She was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a member of the Long Branch Seniors. Mrs. Mincieli was predeceased by her husband, Dominic Mincieli. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Anthony Mincieli of Long Branch, Eugene and Frances Mincieli of Bayonne, and Andrew and Carol Mincieli of Albany, N.Y.; two sisters, Josephine Marra of West Long Branch and Mary Mango of Lakewood; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Memorial donations may be made to VNACJ, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank 07701.

Alfonso Andretta

Mr. Andretta, 90, of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Freehold, died Nov. 7 at Kindred Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Born in New York, he lived in Freehold before moving to West Palm Beach 57 years ago. He worked as a car­pet installer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, West Palm Beach. He was predeceased by three brothers, Carmen, Arthur and Tommy Andretta. Surviving are two sisters, Ann Baldwin of Howell and Helen Byrne of Freehold; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, fol­lowed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.

Geraldine L. Mulroney Davenport

Mrs. Davenport, 66, of East Brunswick died Nov. 11 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by two sons, Donald and James Marchiselli. Surviving are her hus­band, Richard Davenport; a daughter, Sandra Holder of Lakewood; two sons, William Davenport of Gaithersburg, Md., and Gary Davenport of Atlanta; two broth­ers, Robert and Fred Mulroney of Florida; a sister, Percilla Scaglione of Old Bridge; five grandchildren; and three great-grand­children. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
