Sterilize, rather than kill, NJ’s black bears

Would New Jersey’s black bears make better trophies if "the testes of our majestic black bear population" (to quote Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bradley Campbell) were left intact?

Neutersol, an immunocontraceptive chemical approved by the Food and Drug Administration, should be tried, and the hunt canceled, because it is better to sterilize than to kill the bears, and such sterilization will serve the supposed purpose of the hunt, namely, to reduce the bear population in the northwestern corner of the state, and thus obviate the alleged need to kill our majestic black bears.
