MONROE — Delayed by the tricks of winter weather, the Mighty Oak Players, the community theater group of Monroe, have new audition dates for their annual musical, "Local Stars."
Auditions, originally scheduled for earlier this week, now will be held 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Monday’s tryouts will be held in Monroe Township High School’s Richard P. Marasco Performing Arts Center.
The Wednesday and Friday auditions will be conducted in the Monroe Township High School lecture hall.
Auditions are for "Local Stars 2004, a ’50s-’60s Musical Revue," to be directed by Jack Rosmarin.
Auditions also may be scheduled as special appointments by calling Mr. Rosmarin at (212) 288-4156 during the day or at (732) 591-8105 in the evening.
Producer Nancie Gunkelman said the show is open to the entire community.
Ms. Gunkelman said those coming to the audition should be prepared to work with the music of the 1950s and 1960s.
"We recommend that singers, dancers and musicians bring sheet music, a tape or CD for accompaniment," she said.
