Training for schooner
program to begin March 6
The Bayshore Discovery Project (BDP), Port Norris, is seeking individuals for its shipboard volunteer training program for the 2004 season. The program will be held March 6, 13, 27 and April 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the BDP, 2800 High St., Port Norris. Volunteers will sign up for a sail in April or May to assist the schooner A.J. Meerwald’s crew in delivering educational programs. Training includes sailing and maritime skills, shipboard life and safety, knots, line handling, schooner layout and other topics.
