Feb. 26, 4:50 p.m.: Gay marriage redux

More on the conservative attack on the constitution.

   The Boston Globe reacts to President George W. Bush’s support for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and woman with the kind of vim and vigor that all editorial writers should use.
   Here it is.
   And here is an editorial on the proposed marriage amendment to the U.S. Constitution from the N.Y. Daily News.
   While it is mistaken, I think, in its assumptions that American courts should not step in when civil rights are at issue, it does ask the president to back off on his misguided political gambit.
   Harold Meyerson in the Washington Post does one of the better jobs I’ve seen in dissecting the political motivations of the Bushies on the gay marriage ban.
