Sayreville Schools sets kindergarten registration

Sayreville Public Schools will begin kindergarten registration in March for the 2004-05 school year. Parents may schedule an appointment to register their child by calling the school nurse in their respective schools from March 1-12.

The nurses may be reached as follows: Arleth School, Sue Lanzafama, (732) 525-5242; Eisenhower School, Edith Braun, (732) 525-5231; Truman School, Sharlene Kenny, (732) 525-5213; Wilson School, Judith Berg-Friel, (732) 525-5237.

Students entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 31.

The following documents and/or information must be presented when registering:

• child’s official birth certificate or passport;

• physician’s certificate indicating that the child has received the necessary immunizations as required by the state Department of Health;

• physician’s certificate indicating that the child has received a Mantoux test for tuberculosis after Jan. 1 of the current year;

• physician’s certificate indicating that the child has had a complete physical examination, including a vision and hearing screening, within a year of September entrance;

• proof of residency as documented by a certificate of occupancy, deed, mortgage agreement, borough tax bill or lease.

The registration of a child will not be completed nor will a child be assigned to a class until all the required documents have been submitted.
