Leslie L. Taylor, of Metuchen, was recently named to the board of directors at Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Corp., New Brunswick. The corporation is the parent company of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.

Taylor has served on the hospital’s board of directors since 1997, and is also a member of its professional affairs and strategic planning committees. She is managing partner of Matrix Special Events, Cranbury.

She serves on the boards of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation, as well as the steering committee of the Women’s Leadership Council. Community service organizations in which Taylor is active include Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen, New Brunswick, and Hands Together, Haiti, a Catholic relief organization.

The College of New Jersey small business development center, Ewing, will present "How to Start Your Own Successful Business" March 30 at 7 p.m. at the free Public Library, 340 Plainfield Ave., Edison.

The free seminar is for potential entrepreneurs and topics will include financing, sales and marketing techniques, legal formations and tips on starting home-based businesses. To register, call the library at (732) 287-2298, ext. 1.

Michael Greenwald, a teacher for the Metuchen school district, was named vice president of the board of trustees of the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey Inc. (BIANJ). A resident of Interlaken, Greenwald has been involved with the association for several yeas, is a support group leader in Edison, and coordinates a forum at the association’s annual seminar. He received his master’s degree at Rutgers University Graduate School of Education, and his bachelor’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
