Booklet fosters discussion on dangers of drugs

Parents of teens don’t seem to be acting on the knowledge that ecstasy could harm their children, according to a study released by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. In fact, when it comes to chatting about the dangers of drugs, ecstasy was less likely to be discussed than marijuana or alcohol, or any other licit or illicit drug.

With recent articles highlighting the tragic consequences of ecstasy use, it is imperative that we as parents speak to our children about the dangers of ecstasy and other drugs, and that includes alcohol.

For those parents and caregivers who are nervous or unsure about how to bring the subject up there is help. Call Prevention First and ask for our free "Keeping Your Kids Drug-Free" booklet. This is a conversation that you can’t afford to pass up — it is our children’s lives at stake.

Prevention First is committed to improving the lives of Monmouth County’s children so that they can thrive and grow to be responsible, strong individuals in any environment. Their programs strengthen your child’s foundation through life skills education.
